War and Peace show recovered Italiano scale of Issue.

    Camerati,

I recovered these items last week..

    Lesser Fascist Italiano Royal Army.

Other Ranks GV Model 34 Great Coat....it has an additional slit cut into it ( Right side) to access rear pocket of GV jacket ( the cut is such to allow space for the hand to enter, the garment is lopsided) and no button tabs on the "skirt" ends, manufactured like that..... v v nice quality marked 1 ....

Stars from my Re-Pro Great Coat I sold on to a Camerata.

Bersaglieri Badge 7° for Casco tropicale....

Pick/Mattock E-Tool... very useful tool... like many times....
    Beretta Model 34 Magazine.
Model 33 Steel Helmet ( War time rivets, and strap fitthings, Post War chin strap, and Colour)....

Best Victory.... model 30 Water bottle, no cover, or Cap/water drip plug but with strap... for £6.00.

Was given a Model 33 Water bottle with no strap and Drip feed Plug so I used its cap on the Model 30 Water Bottle.

Not a bad Gig, dressed as Pavia 27th Inf Div in the Desert.. 1942... it was a gas.

    Enjoy, any thoughts?.

Nice items! Regarding the 1934 pattern great coat I have its twin. Mine did not come with the collar stars anymore (holes were there) so I had to add those.

It being a single breasted design, this garment was totally inadequate for the Russian front and kind of illustrates what these soldiers had to "make do with" during Barbarossa...
unlike their Mediterranean brothers-in-arms, the Spaniards who of course had access to superior German equipment (in the Blue Legion!)

They suffered in the cold during the French Alpine and Greek campaigns before that. There was no reason why the military authorities should not have done something about such an inadequate item of kit.

As was noted at the time (in connection with the Italian soldiery):-

      "Lions led by Donkeys."
