Bersaglieri Plume

I have also asked this at Commando Supremo, so sorry for the double-post. How long are the feathers for a Bersaglieri plume to be mounted on the M-33? I've seen them from those that were so short they stuck straight up to ceremonial plumes that fell down below the wearer's shoulder. What would be the length for a nice display helmet.

Generally a feathers' holder for M.33. holds a minimum of 80 cockerel feathers.
Sometimes, Officers' holders had a double 'piumetto'.Each feather is 20-25 cm long.PaoloM

Of course Camerati, if you go for the Combat look you can have much less... There is a Photo about of a Bersaglieri Soldato wearing a Modello 33, he only seems to have about five feathers left.... things were tough on the Eastern Front.

In the Desert it was commended you could tell where the Bersaglieri had been fighting as there was feathers all over the place... makes sense.... always lots of bits of this and that all over the place in a fighting position under fire.


On the side .....I found if you let your Feather Plume get rained on so it is soaked to the point it sticks to your Modello 33 when it dries it flops over much better than from new.

On the side again, while inspecting....... erm, playing with my Bersaglieri bits and bobs I found Wreckers of Insect Life eating one my Plumes...

Need less to say it felt the full wreath of the State and was Liquidated in a manner of efficiency only a Centrally Controlled Command Society of a Workers State's Internal Matters Organ can achieve.
