    Mike,

in this photo you can see two blue arrows shields troops (metal) and officers
(embroidered cotton) from the the book on italian shields page 125
"Gli scudetti da braccio italiani 1930 1946" of F. Tavoletti.
You can see some differences about the embroidered cotton.
    cheers, Raffaello

      Mike,

I suggest you read this book:
      Ernestino Chiappa,
C.T.V. - Il Corpo Truppe Volontarie Italiano durante la
Guerra Civile Spagnola 1936-1939, Serie Electa n° 2
You find more info about this shield and the uniform of Flechas Azules
the author is an very good reference for the history of italian troops
in Spain; some pics of this book as you can see the badge in
cloth was embroidered in blue cotton the same of the Tavoletti book...
      cheers
      Raffaello

Does anyone know if there's a similar book, like the one above, dealing with the uniforms, badges and equipment of the Spanish nationalist troops(with color plates etc.)?
