a nice lot of an officer of Littorio, various military mail, receipts and other lettera from Africa to his wife .....

the lieutenant (then captain) commander the Carabinieri (RRCC) of the Littorio Division Umberto Musolino......

And Lt. Umberto Musolino also made the war as well as the military policeman

General Bitossi, the commander of the Armored Division Littorio

and here at El Alamein in mid-June 1942 Capt. Umberto Musolino sends the last letter to his wife and the his mail stops

and the reason for this interruption is explained in a letter that its commander, General Gervasio Bitossi sent to his wife two months after

General Bitossi explains to the Mrs Musolino that the delay of his letter is due to the certainty that Captain Musolino is no longer dispersed in the battele but POW as confirmed by the English military radio

the signature of General Gervasio Bitossi:


Lieutenant in 1906 in the cavalry regiment Cavalleggeri Guide.
Captain in 1915 in Genoa Cavalleria receives the Silver Medal of Valor
in 1916.
Major in 1923 and Lieutenant Colonel in 1926.
In 1928-29 adjutant in the Cavalry Regiment Piemonte Reale
In 1933 he took command of the Cavalleggeri Guide until 1935..Promoter of the mechanization of the Cavalry, he turns the cavalry regiment "Guide" in a Armoured Regiment (with the new CV33 the "carri veloci")
Overall in 1938, deputy commander of the "Celere" (mechanized) division Emanuele Filiberto Testa di Ferro.
In 1940 he commands the the Littorio, untile the end (he receiving for that year the Knight's Cross of the Order of Savoy Military 1941.
After the conflict passes the reserve and on leave

and the confirmation (from Egypt) of one of his soldiers captured with him to his father, that he's fine (Musolino was "traveling" to India)

and finally the last two pictures in memory of the tank crewmen of Littorio in El Alamein....

more a note on the wife of Captain Umberto Musolino .... Mrs. Lola Amoretti Mussolini ..... it was the sister of a great officer : the Captain Renato Amoretti, the provisional commander of the Sappers " XXXI Guastatori del Genio.....
