Ciao amici! I don't know anything about Italian gear

but, this tag: "Italian Helmet. Captured during the invasion of Sicily. probably at Licata on July 10 1943." sounds so bloody fishy. I mean can you imagine and believe the situation when private says this to the corporal?

      No way..
730 euros for that helmet is a pure madness!
Maybe someone who sell around, will be happy to see these prices, but that's evilbay, and say that here prices are correct is quite silly..

To me a correct price for a 33 helmet start from 200 euros for a not stenciled one in good condition, to 300/350 for a stencilled one, but depend by condition, and by the kind of stencil, as well..

      Cheers,
      Andrea..

Usually, when I buy an helmet it must satisfy some standards:

          1) Has it a good redeable insigna?

          2) Has it standard acceptable features?

          3) Provenience;

          4) If it has a story behind it must be based on official papers and documents;

Does this helmet answer these simply question? IMHO no....

Btw, every collector has different standards.

          Take r.

                    I don't know.
I rarely buy from professional dealers.
Prefer buying from private sellers or other collectors.

But yes, there's one, a good friend of mine:
                    http://nuke.combat-helmets.com/World...9/Default.aspx

The black mvsn helmet used to be mine before I sold it to him.

The chemical service m33 was for sale at 250, the Savoia cavalleria at 300ish, the Regia Marina at 280.

Still these prizes are higher than those from collector to collector, but better prizes than those from Caricat, RBNR or alter.art, just to mention a few professional Italian militaria dealers.

Cesare Ceni (T.M.S.) from Brescia has also reasonable prizes.
On ebay he goes under the nick "kranebet".

And here's a seller from Germany who has always good Italian helmets:

they are ok helmets, some with replaced chinstraps and most with oiled liners, no to be compared with the Bersaglieri that in my opinion was not restored in any way.
Also most of the helmets were sold.

thank you anyway for the links.

Maybe, but there was damage to the liner.
And also the fregio seems to be handpainted and not made with a (metallic) spray mask like reglementary...

I respectfully disagree...the insignia looks it has been made using the regular stencil technique.
As far as the liner, it is rat-bite damaged but at least not messed around with, like most of the M33 available for sale nowadays.
Few weeks ago an Italian RSI para shell with partial decals sold for over $15,000...crazyness? I believe that is the market to dictate the prices and not the goods per se: M33s with infantry, bersaglieri, MVSN and RSI insignias in untouched conditions are simply too difficult to find, so the prices raise and raise and raise.
$1137 isn't that bad after all.
Do not forget that militaria collecting is an expensive hobby!

Everybody one know how much momey have got in the pockets so how much spend of that !!!!

The first Infantery m.33 can be interesting, with that pics are impossible to say anything on the badge.

Can be made with the regolamentar mask or with another very similar.

If the history of the find in Sicily is it good the helmet can be used from a Battaglione Presidiario of a Coastal Division, if the number in the circle isi it very hight and the badge different of the usual this can be a good way to know more about that helmet. Patina look good but have a strange sign on the pic, probably a tecnical effect of the photo because alls look like out of focus.

Bersaglieri looks good but the badge is it made with a no regolamentar mask like others know of the 1° and 8° Regiment.

On others in the sites, i can't talk about but (ecept CC.NN.) dont give me a very good feeling.

My idea is it better prefer helmets with regolamentar badges.
Some of this have standart particolarities for helmets of the same regiment (a strange flame, a not perfect number etc.)
