The feathers' holder is for Bersaglieri not for Alpini.Postwar, approx 1965-70.
Frankly I don't like the drawing of the stencilled badge, probably not
            official.I don't know that type of liner.PaoloM

Thanks for the correction...Agreed! I mixed up Bersaglieri with Alpini...They also had feathers... but in their hats!

Like Giorgio stated, the Bersaglieri feathers holder does not belong to this helmet.

                Fregio looks pretty much "homegrown".

Is the shell made of steel or rather aluminum?
Rivets, liner and chinstrap are not typical for a combat helmet.

                  questions dating m33

The helmet is mine and its heavy and made of steel.
It's mint and unissued. (the Bersaglieri feather holder was a later add on)
Unissued as one of the rivets holding the linerband is does not hold the ring very well, I believe a production error...
No markings other than size in band and production code BB 48. The leather straps have only 1 rivet instead of 2.
The liner ring is painted is same color as the helmet.
Also the holes in the leather fingers are a bit different, reversed pattern than what you normally find.
So this is a '70's helmet? How can you identify this, production features or maker code?

                    Hello,
chinstraps are sure post-war: please note the color and in particular the roll on the buckle (you can find it only in post-war straps).

                    Regards

                        Anyway, back to this helmet:
My question if it was made of alumium was pointing at the possibility that this was a light weight parade helmet.
On these aluminium or cardboard parade helmets you could find all sorts of liners and chinstraps.

Taking a closer look, I also start believing that the grigioverde paint is not genuine ww2 era, but repainted after ww2.

                        IMHO:
Genuine m33 shell, repainted + restencilded after ww2.
Liner and chinstrap 'homegrown' replacement parts.

Are the 3 rivets of aluminum?
This can sometimes be found on m33s that were overhauled at army barracks.

Do you mean on post ww2 AMI m33s?
To my knowledge, these were the only m33s that were fitted with leather straps after ww2 (leaving aside reissued ww2 helmets).
Color would be typical for AMI leather gear.

                            fittings

The bolts seem to be brass, non magnetic! Pot is steel, I also believe a refurbished helmet, minty condition, never worn. Anyone ever seen one of these before?
                            What is AMI???
