John, I was looking at the eagle again. Is it brass or war metal(zamac)?

                    HI Dennis-

It is either brass or a brass-plated material...well when looked at from the front.

At the back I can not say for sure,

What say ye? Should it be the war metal?

I'm sticking with good. I can't find any discernible difference besides the brass appearing front with originals. The flat pins are brass as the originals and mounted in the same places. My eagles appear to have had a silver wash at one time or thats what it looks like now. I know zamac has a little( very low%) copper in it and maybe thats what we are seeing. Feather for feather even the top view and back are identical to my originals that I can see. I just never saw one with the brass or copper look on the surface so I needed to pull mine out for a double check. Even the surface tiny bubbling looks the same .You never know what will pop up these days. I can only go by what I have handled and know. I only know of originals in warmetal(zamac), but your may still be zamac with a bit higher copper content or copper/brass washed.

                      I still say original/

                      ps. zamac description

As far as I've been told, the eagle insignia should be in zamac and the prongs in brass.

Attention!!!!! The Association Member John Telesmanich (www.germanwarbooty.com) is not behaved, with me, in correct professional way. It was in progress between me and him the negotiation for the buy of the Italian SS cap eagle and in incorrect way totally he has sold to another buyer the aforesaid insignia without consulting me and without keeping in mind of the messages and the deposit (what you he has returned me) that I had sent him.
I would like to specify that its application had gone down from $700 to $600 dollars and when I have accepted the offer (after 10 minutes) he has answered me, the day after, that such proposal was not more valid and that he still wanted the full price. I have with him claimed and I have sent him a deposit (that him has returned me) asking him how many dollars I would have had to send him, anchor, to purchase the insignia of my interest.
Obviously he has not answered me and, after 3 days, he has communicated me to have sold it to another buyer for 700 $.
Now I ask that he sells to me, because I am the buyer, the Italian ss cap eagle or that your site of militaria sanctions a non correct seller.
Sorry for my English language but I am an Italian man.
                          Hi and thanks Gian Aberto

                            Gian-

I did behave in a most professional manner with you. After I posted the piece for opinions and it got a thumbs up you pmed me and emailed me and asked me if I would sell it and I said yes that I wanted 700 dollars including registered airmail to Italy. This price was based on an estimate I received on the value of a metal SS cap eagle before I had this piece in my hands.

You did not agree to my price telling me it was too high, offering me 550 then 575 then 600 dollars and also wanting to pay in small installments while in this time I had a buyer who agreed to the price, and it was you who paypalled me 120 dollars as a "deposit" or installment without my request for any payment. I refunded this money to you fully.

                            John

I'm saying that exists between you and me a private treaty and that I will have timely notice of my intention to buy the badge, for $ 600, asking you if and when I could pay , read my mail. The next day you gave me indicated that the price was over $ 600, as for agreements made, but $ 700; so I sended you $120 as deposit (do not request frome you) and asking you how many dollars I should still send you to buy the badge in object. Today you give me back the deposit, saying that the badge was sold frome you to another buyer for $ 700. How would you rate your professional and correct behavior? In Italy a seller who acts like you call him a clown in the U.S. do not know Gian

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BUYER, BEAUTIFUL AND RARE BADGES
