    29th cap eagle ?

Hello to all .. If possible I would like some advice on an Officer 29th Italian cap eagle that I would be willing to buy (photos are taken from the site of militaria seller). I am not very convinced of his originality: in your opinion is fake ? Why ???
    Merry Christmas ...
    Thank you.

Variation of a Fake that's been around since the late 70's. Made in Pakistan for an American Dealer in both red and black background.

I am not positive if this style even existed, but possible

Here are two fakes in my archive. Similar with a few small different details.

I am not sure if I understand your question.

Do you mean are the fakes still being made? Well, the dealer that had them made in the 70's is dead. There are others that sell reproduction Italian SS eagles in many different styles. Most are sold as reproductions cheaply.

I am not sure if that answered your question .

Yes, Eagle #2 is a reproduction also

Yes, Occasionally good Italian SS eagles are available mostly on red background. Mostly unissued from Dachau stocks. A good horde was found recently bought from a vets son in the Midwest. it included Lorioli skulls , two variations of sleeve eagles slip slip on boards and chevrons . All on red background with the exception of course of the Lorioli metal hat skulls. Just be patient. I would not any one new to collecting Italian SS to buy anything other at first then recognized original items.

Here is a good thread discussing various Italian SS insignia ( many pages)

                        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ht=Italiane+ss

There are many others. If you use the search function. Enter in Italiane SS or Italian SS and you will find them.

You can also check my humble but always under construction blog/website for photos of the Italian SS and some of my collection . Check under the Italian SS and Militaria Collection Gallery sub sites. Also I have a reproduction sub site I am still working on.

Ps. To see enlarged photos most you can double click on several times to enlarge the photos.
