    Paid 20 bucks for a M33

I found an ad in a magazine that was selling original M33s italian helmets picked up in North Africa, they were selling for 20 bucks and 10 dollars shipped. I dont have pics handy, but the liner is completely intact( its dry but the leather is plyable), chinstrap is broken and not plyable. The shell still has about half of its green paint on the outside and has a bit of surface rust on it but absolutely no pitting, and the inside is in perfect condition. So how did I do?

If the story is true ... indeed a good deal.

I dont think its refurbished, the liner is the original liner. I will post pics when I have time.

If so Camerata, it is a good victory, I got a War time pattern( Rivets and Chin strap fittings), post war reuse for £15.00, pity it was too small a shell size for me to use it... It was a post War repaint with a webbing chin strap... I passed it on to a Camerata who it fitted.

What all types of rivets did they use for the helmet?

It seems to be a spanish reissue, because the rivets are plugged, but everything else on it checks out, I got what I payed for and am happy with it. Any idea why they took out the vented rivets and put plugs in them?
