German / Italian fringed sash-flea market find

Hello folks. Was wondering if anyone had seen one of these before and if so, you could enlighten me as to its possible use (IF for anything other than decorative purposes). It's about a yard long (from end to end), so probably too short for a funeral sash (or??) It appears to be made of silk, and the swastika / roundel are separately applied (swastika is cut out from a single piece of cloth). It's stitched together where the German and Italian flag ends meet. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hello,
just a note, the tri-color slash looks like bulgarian (White-Green-Red),
    NOT italian (Green-White-Red).

Thanks Brus. Perhaps! Well, they were allied as well. Maybe this makes it even more interesting? Anyway, just a "patriotic" item then, I'd imagine? Thx.

        Hello Milton,
even if it is too short, it really appears to be a funeral sash. Just my idea...

Thanks Brus. Could well be as I've not owned one before so am not aware of the specific requirements re. length. I do think it's unique however, being German / Bulgarian if this IS indeed the case. Thanks again for your comments!
