Italian tank badge

Dear all,

I have below tank badge already for some time. I got it together with only WW2 Italian badges, mainly Fascist ones, as a bring-back.
Still do to lack of data, I am still unsure it is a period one. Never trust the story...
I compared it to the ones in this thread: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=306633 but the big difference is less quality and moreover it is not a solid badge, it is hollow at the back.
The badge is unfortunatly missing the pin.

Anyone seen this one before and is able to date it?

Yes, just seen this type. You've to bear in mind that there were 5 or 6 firms
at least that produced these badges during WWII and 3 at least after WWII, so some differences are possible.

I have also checked your book Uniformi e Distintivi dell'Esercito Italiano, but unfortunatly the picture on page 53 is too small to make any conclusions

I also checked pics of the regular encountered recent variation. Definitly it is not that one. Also as mentioned I checked the pieces in above thread.

So taking into considerations the makers variances; with your experience you belief this badge could truly have been part of the bring-back?
