This is the Hungarian Freedom Fighters Association. Dont get too excited, it was not a partisan organization. Formed on Februyary 28th 1948 this was primarily a club association of Communist Party members in the military which was a method of showing support to the Hungarian Communist Party in the post-war Hungarian Republic. The main thrust of the club was centered around military style sporting events. This is a "type I" badge as it has the raised areas on the reverse for soldering on the front details. The badge should be 47mm tall and 43mm wide.
What is the shell for size comparison?

Thank you! I believe the shell is probably Mannlicher.
