Italian MVSN Shield and some Metal Ratings?

Hello Everybody, my friend got these a while back from a US Vet's estate, everything is not magnetic except the star which is magnetic. Most of the gold has come off the shields and worn down to the brass base.

Can anybody tell me which zone this MVSN Militia was in and what these small shields are? I was thinking they are MVSN ratings for radio operator and not sure what the stars are, but I am just making an educated guess.

    All the Best,

    John

          John,
The "XI" Zona was HQed in Napoli (Naples).....

The shields with stars & Radio "blitzs" aren't listed in any of the referances I have as being Fascist period.....similiar radio shields are listed as postwar....
the Star Shields I didn't see anywhere.....maybe they are 43-45 period but unknown to me....

There were civilian, Police, guard, etc. insignia (& shields, tabs, etc.) that have never been properly referanced....both Fascist & RSI & Postwar....certianly these are typical Italian.....probably not rare, just obscure....

The Zona XI shield would still be quite collectible even in the condition it's in.
Hope this adds alittle....not really an expert in Italian Fascist (especially if not in one of my referances....)

            Hi John:

Thank you very much for the information on these items

They certainly seem to have the same patina to them, but I do not know if they came off the same tunic and your info as to era is interesting.

            John

(Moderator can you move this to the Italian section, I put it in International by accident, thanks John)
