Italian Medal?

Hi, After going through the boxes that have been under tons of other kit I found some bits which I had long forgotten. Anyway I believe this medal was brought back by my grandfather who served in Africa, Italy and Austria. Only problem is I have no idea what it is? I once saw it on an italian website which did not state what it was. So I'm posting it here in the hope that one of you knowledgable folks can help me.

Dear Snorky,

It is a Merit Cross for Service in the Fascist Youth organisation.
The light blue color on your cross and ribbon indicates the owner was a girl between 13 and 17 years old.

Wow, thank you for that. For the years i've been collecting i've never known. My biggest mystery solved. Is is scarce/valuable? I wouldn't sell it, as my grandfather brought it back, but just out of pure curiosity.

Rare: no. Desirable: yes.

The price depends on were to sell/buy it, but these type of medals in good condition vary in my area from 80-100 euro. It is at us colectors to except that yes or no.
Yours is not in that good condition, so keep 80 as a guideline.
