Italian WW2 Airforce Reconnaissance badge - Original ?

From the same collection as my posted Helmet-badge comes this badge for Airforce Reconnaissance . It seems to be the " gold class " , but I understand these have also been reproduced . Any comments on this one highly appreciated ..

Reverse - would this be the proper pin-attachment ? I cannot find any pics of how the reverse should look ..?

      Hello Winkelman,

Could you post pictures of the other side of the catch and other side (straight on) photo of the hinge? I think it is ok. There are different pins and catches on these, although the majority of the catches are different than the catch on yours. I don’t know of any strategic reconnaissance badges being reproduced/faked in the past. The fakes I know of are torpedo badges (not considering the fake wings). Does anyone have photos of any fake badges other than the torpedo that they can post?

Hello Lee , thanks for the info ..! I will post closeups asap , I found it hard to get the angle right the first time . That catch looks like a small metal tube with an opening-slit in the side , but not closed at the bottom .

Here are some closeups of the pin construction - hope they are clear enough . The badge is die-struck & unmarked .. </p> 1

                  Hello Winkelman,

It has the typical type hinge and pin with a different type catch than I have seen on specialty badges. The catch on yours is of higher quality than the standard open wire hook commonly found on most aviation specialty badges (other than the molded aluminum ones which have a molded catch). The catch on yours would most likely be preferred as it shields the tip of the pin and is similar to the method used on most pilot and observer badges. Your badge is also much higher quality than the limited reproduction/fakes I have seen. I think your badge is original and a nice example.
