The combat Lucerna

Ciao, I have some questions about the Carabinieri Lucerna.

I would assume that this version of the Lucerna:

With this covering over it:



Are these hats and covers collectible? I never see them in any collections and I have a hard time fiding the history of this distinct hat. Frankly, I love the look of the "combat Lucerna," something about the blending of 19th century style with 20th century practicality.

I'd really appreciate anyone giving me some history on the Lucerna and the cover (which I know were worn in both WWI and II). If you have any photos of Carabinieri in these combat versions, please post those as well!

For the moment, one Carabinieri Reali Lucerna worn during WWI with cover.

This is an original piece as shown in "Le Uniformi Metropolitane del Regio Esercito dalla Riforma Baistrocchi all'inizio della Seconda Guerra Mondiale 1933-1940"



I have a webbing bag that according another collector was used to transport the Lucerna when not worn when on the move. If that is true I am not sure, never saw a picture off it. I will add a picture later and maybe one here can confirm it.
