2 Italian Flags / Banners

Hi Everyone,

I picked these two pieces up over the weekend. The first is about 5x5 feet and is all embroidered in colored thread. It is the same on both sides.

The second is about 2 x 3 1/2 feet and the embroidery is bullion and colored thread. both are very high quality and in very good condition.

Are these just ordinary Italian flags or were these for some unit or organization?

Nice flags, Not sure of use but not normal flag, Which would have only the shield of Savoy and a Crown.

Model 1938 Italian National flag arms ???

Your flags have the 1938 Italian National Arms, but IMO
their vintage is suspect as above the center FERT motto
you should see the Madonna holding Christ Child badge.
WW2 GI cut flag center in my collection is shown below.

Here are close ups above the center "Fert", the Madonna is present on both.
It is done in bullion on the smaller banner.

Thanks for posting the nice close-up Madonna badge views, the
Devil is always in the details, from same suspicions are allieved,
the flags do appear to be WW2 period made. Although the bullion
wire Madonna is more like the potato chip version.
