    Tropical Italian Tunic

    Hi

I collect German uniforms. I bought a tunic many years ago. It was very cheap. I think it is a "renactors" used tunic. It has German collar patches, but the thread light up with black light. It the tunic a WWII Italian tunic?

    thanks

    Juan

It reminds me of a "Spanish" made OR used Tunic in "Italian Style"that I sold a couple of years ago on e-stand. I am not sure, mine had more of greenish tint and had different buttons of course(wooden) . Markings look hokey to me. Probably a period or later tunic but problem with Spanish or Italian items are some styles and surplus were carried over into the post war years.

What is "Itala" (markings?) Poor attempt to spell "Italia"?
What's "Vernoa"? poor attempt to spell "Verona".
Was the faker perhaps dyslectic ??? I agree bogus markings and date.

I'm also pretty certain its one of those (probably post war) Spanish made sahariana tunics (no extra button holes were added = standard like this) which was post war stamped to make it look Italian... with post war added German buttons and insignia... to make it look German used...

I do agree that the Spanish ones that I've seen (and owned) are more olive green in color (almost like DAK color) but it still looks Spanish to me! Just faded I guess, washed...
It was cheap for a reason!

Here's mine (Spanish made) also set us as a German impression
I sold it in the mean time...got 100 bucks for it without insignia.
Note the cuff buttons are the Spanish wooden ones

Notice the similarities in the stiching on the bottom of the pockets and the
cuffs with Nick's. If I recall mine had the same interior . Mine was also marked with a unreadable red rectangle stamp. I think the color difference are either the light of the photo or washed real hard several times.

sorry but agree with Nick and Dennis, spanish not italian, with fake
                          ink stamp.
