Originally posted by Theodor View PostAs far as I know, this badge was introduced in the autumn of 1943 and existed for only a few months - in 1944 it was replaces with the newer type. The first group of trained paratroopers got it /they trained in Germany/, also some German paratroopers got it.
Thanks

Got a few additional details. It was given only to the first group of paratroopers, who trained in Braunschweig, Germany. That's 220 - 230 men! The next groups of trained paras got the second type of badge.
Add to that unknown, but probably very low number of badges, given to German paratroopers - in total, this badge existed in very low numbers!

How many units of the second type were created? Maybe 500 units? no more paratroopers than that amount.
