Are you sure it was bought back from WW2 ? these helmets as I am sure you are aware are very common and its very easy for someone to add a badge also it must have been very hard for a member of the commonwealth forces to have kept a pith elmet in immaculate condition and to have bought it back after the war.The rosette looks quite new , but perhaps its the photo ,nice badge some sort of motorised division . If its real $800 .Rob

Its real, direct from the Vets estate. Its hardly in immacualte condition. Is the small slot on the side for the Black feathers?

Hi,

Nice pith helmet. I agree with ROBB that these helmets are quite common.
This helmet IMO their value would be around 250 EUR.

US$800 v 250euro is quite a price difference....Which is correct? I was thinking around US$600.00

Prices vary if present the cockerel feathers (of the time).Very hard to get of
the time! Without feathers, I agree with Ciano, more or less what he says.

I was thinking these are quite rare (in my eyes) and if you have provenance from the vet that would be a good thing ,my $800 was just a guess based on the rarity of an original one ,in truth I dont really know because I dont think I have seen one for sale .Rob
