Spanish Nationalist Air Force Badge Identification Help

I've got a badge that I purchased from the estate of a collector a number of years ago that I've been unable to identify. The pin-back badge is in the form of a shield and measures about 44mm by 60mm. It is well-constructed with a blue enamel background on which is the Eagle of St. John the Evangelist as the focul point. Behind the eagles head in red enamel is a ribbon and group of five arrows. On the eagle's chest are Spanish Air Force wings atop a blue and white checkerboard shield. There are no maker marks present. I've exhausted my reference library and the internet to the best of my ability. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Possibly some post-war veteran's souvenir or commemorative?

    Best Regards,

    Dave

Hi Dave, what you have described is a university students militia badge, given to those who spend their military service every summer while they are students in the university. The big bird is not an St. John´s eagle, but a swan (simbol of spanish universitys). THe airforce wings indicates that the holder has his duty in airforce. It´s not a Civil War item. I think the first examples were made in the 50´s. Not very expensive in Spain (from 15 euros), but when the airforce or navy insignias are added the price is higher (30-40 euros).
        Best regards.
