Italian 62 Infantry Division Marmarica - Veterans Medal Questions

Hello all. Just popping in from the British Militaria forum to ask about this medal.

I believe this to be a Italian 62 Infantry Division Marmarica (Motorised) veterans medal in 800 silver.

What I would like to know is the significance of the design, also does anyone on the forum have such expert knowledge that they are able to tell me which veterans event this was struck for and also its age? Is this a common medal you can still buy in Italy from street traders who have boxes full operating in the shadow of town and city monuments?

All thoughts and opinions are welcome.

    Kind regards,

    Steve.
