Ya I've never seen it in wear, but more photos are being provided all the time now, so hope something comes up. I don't own one yet, but if found in one of my finds I'll look more into them then.

Here is an interesting patch I remember there was some information somewhere indicating that it was worn by German-Italian translators unfortunately I have never seen period pictures of it on uniforms. By the way I totally agree on the information provided by Dennis S on the items posted in this thread.
