“TOLLO BETWEEN WAR AND RECONSTRUCTION”

That the 19th and 20th july 2008 in this event are going to participate groups, associations, private collectors and enthusiasts of military vehicles and uniforms of WWII, fighters belonging to the departments of the Axis and Allies.
The town of Tollo, Abruzzo Institute for the History of Resistance and Contemporary Italy and Tiberio family have organized this event to remember their citizen Tiberio Tomaso, writer and historical researcher, who recently died and to promote a historical event.
To Tollo was awarded the silver medal of Civil Merit from the Republic President Carlo Azelio Ciampi, dedicated to the memory of fallen tollesi citizens during WWII.
Program:
Saturday 19th July
9:00, arrival in Piazza Caduti di Nassirja
10:00 departure along “The Gustav Line”.
First stop, arrival and visit at the “Battle of Ortona Museum”. During this visit a witness of the “Casa Berardi Battle” will tell about the frightening events he lived.
Second stop, to the “Moro River Canadian War Cemetery, where a ceremory in honor for fallen will take place, in presence of local authorities.
Afternoon return to Tollo, “Conference on the Issues of War” screening of the movie “Tollo Raus” and visit to the show “TOLLO BETWEEN WAR AND RECONSTRUCTION”, within will be documents and photos of the passage of war in Abruzzo and varied war material, from Cassino and Ortona museum. Dinner in uniform.
Sunday 20th July
Morning, parade of reenactors and military vehicles in Tollo.
Lunch and return to home.
