    Regia Aeronautica Estiva Uniform Question

    Dear Friends,

I am having a dillema with one of my aviation uniforms and need your help. I have an Italian Estiva class uniform for what I believe is a maresciallo grade officer. The problem is, it doesn't seem to have the correct "look". I am using Andrea Viotti's book as a guide. Here is his illustration:

Now here is my uniform. You can see there are differences. There are three buttons on the front instead of two. The lapel is much larger and falls wider on the chest. I am wondering if my tunic is for an NCO? Is it more modern? Earlier? Than the 1939 grade Estiva uniform?

    Thanks for your help.

    Tod

Hallo Tod, probably the uniform not is it for Maresciallo but for Sergente o Sergente Maggiore in fact there are 3 smooth buttons, Maresciallos can use the jackets with 4 button, buttons like that for officers.
I'm not totally sure ( i must control) but i think what that jacket can be the same model used for the Milizia too during the summer.
In every case with right grades is it a very beatiful uniform!

Confirmed NCO (Sgt or Sgt Major), not Warrant Officer.

                        Hi, Fabio!!!
Fantastic white visor, correct in the shape, material and badge, made by one of the prominent cap factory in the WWII, 'Coruzzolo', in Naples.
It was belonged by a first leutnant from an aircrew branch, easily identificated by the blue-gray back of the leutnant tresse.

                        Many compliments, friend!!!!

                        With envy, Frank
