That could only confirm that every honest dealer can have some bad item among hundred of those he is selling. I think that doesn't exist a dealer who is an expert in all the items connected with "militaria" while there are many collectors, like you, who are true experts in one or a few sectors. I believe that forums exist for this. The seriousness of a dealer is not measured then by one fake he sold in good faith but by his willingness to take it back and refund the buyer. This IMHO.

Sure, it is a very common aged repro. Here they are for sale on Hessen http://www.hessenantique.com/WH_Infa..._p/hegh001.htm

Sorry, but I didn't see my feldmuetze ( I've only one on my home page ) on this web site. This is that one on my website:

        http://www.mymilitaria.it/liste_04/f...aeger_1945.htm

My hat is a feldmmuetze and it's very difficult it's on Hessen because it's made with Italian cloth named "diagonalino" This is very common in the last two years of war. Please, be more specific and write the link of my item. I've not army visor cap ( Heer Schirmmuetze ) for sale at this moment. Thanks

This is the cap I'm referring to, not the feldmutze:

As you have surely seen, this visor cap came with an expertise of Dieter Baumann of Historische Archiv Militarkunde in Marburg, dated 2003. I bought this cap an year later. I've made a research on Who Is and found the following information:

            Domain Name: HESSENANTIQUE.COM
            Registrar: DNC HOLDINGS, INC.
            Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 291
            Whois Server: whois.directnic.com
            Referral URL: http://www.directnic.com
            Name Server: NS3.VOLUSION.COM
            Name Server: NS4.VOLUSION.COM
            Status: clientDeleteProhibited
            Status: clientTransferProhibited
            Status: clientUpdateProhibited
            Updated Date: 21-oct-2012
            Creation Date: 02-nov-2003
            Expiration Date: 02-nov-2015

The domain www. hessenantique.com was registered in nov. 2003, just nine months after Mr. Dieter Baumann wrote his expertise. Obviously it's impossible that this cap has been sold by Hessenantique.

valsente, I am sorry, but the visor on your site is the most common type of Erel repro available on the market. Whether or not Hessen was in business at the time means absolutely nothing, as this could have been distributed by anyone.

I honestly cant believe someone sold that to you with a COA. Dieter Baumann clearly knows absolutely nothing about third reich cloth headgear, as this is the EASIEST repro to spot. I hope you can somehow be refunded.

Spree Militaria is well known in Germany for selling fakes.

many famous dealers sell militaria questionable or repro on their websites (all dealers or collectors can mistake)
I can say Giandomenico is a very good person friendly which is always disponible to solve any problem; just my two cents.

I agree , a common repro sold on the german market for some years now ...
The cello is plastic , the easiest point to spot already a repro ...and so many other points !
"Almost" everybody knows those repros in Europe, not the best for sure and far away from a Janke one for example ?

OK. Thanks to you all for your information about this visor cap. I'm going to delete the page on my website and put it in my "Skeleton Closet".

Probably. I would like to buy it even if not just like mine. It seems made by "zama" and that it's very interesting.

There were 2 for sale : one by zama (n° 13) and another just like yours (listed with n° 14).
