Italian M33

Here is my M33 helmet. It's in preety nice state, but the liner is mising. What really caught my eye, is the decal in the front. It looks like a climbing axe and over it is a n edelweiss. Can anybody shed some light on this? Thanks.

This could be an unofficial stencilled badge for the Milizia Confinaria of the
pre-armistice period, or also always an unofficial badge for the
GNR Confinaria of the RSI period. Now we should see where the IV has fought in
both the periods. Someone can help with this ?

Thanks to both of you for the information! It was found in a old farm house, in an area where italian forces were staitioned during the war.
