Italian M07 ammo pouches WWI & WWII

There are several differences between the M.07 ammo pouches of WWI and
those of the WWII period.
The first shown are of WWI,without rivets, only with stitched leather.
The first were made in natural brown colour, later painted grey-green.

These are of the WWII period.Note the rivets and the stitches together.
It is clear that you can find on the WWII photos of the time, either WWI or
WWII period ammo pouches shown.Not the same in the WWI photos of the
time.

It's very easy.When you find the rivets, they're post WWI. If these are painted grey-green they're pre-or WWII time. If they're khaki painted, they're post WWII used in the early post WWII period by the new republican Italian forces issued with the old Carcano rifles and carbines. Ciao PaoloM

Here a complete WWII set. During WWII they generally used a pair of crgd pouches.But they could
obtain on demand another spare pair, if necessary.

the Italian ammo pouches of the first world war were entirely sewn,
they didn't have the anterior rivet on the strap of closing.
they were initially produced in natural leather (1)
then they were shades of grey green (2).

During the second world war they are produced in one piece of lether (not sewn on front) and renforced with a rivet on the strap of closing.
