    Show those Hungarian uniforms

After starting a Finnish thread (hope people add to it!), lets also try another Axis Allied army, the Hungarians!! Any Hungarian items out there?

Here's my Hungarian "Ost Front" impression circa 1944. Note the Hungarian made reversible Parka which is modeled after the German version. It came plain and quilted. Here's the plain one! Sure looks German doesn't he? Note (just like the parka) the German inspired Hungarian helmet!

    Hungarian Ostfront trooper

From another angle showing the Hungarian helmet better! Again this is the
"un-quilted" (plain) version of the German inspired Hungarian reversible winter parka.
The quilted version is often misrepresented as something else...read further...

      Hungarian Engineer drawing

Here's an illustration that I am "borrowing" which inspired me to put this Hungarian OstFront trooper together. Cool illustration!

        Luftwaffe Para

Here's what's happening...In France this article came out in the "Grossplan" series covering Luftwaffe Paratroopers in the "Militaria" magazine and it was published also in H & C "German Soldier" reference book...

          Confusion

Because of this article, such Hungarian parkas (here shown the quilted version) are now being sold for big bucks as Luftwaffe garments...(especially the "quilted version) This one closed on E-bay a couple of days ago along with the quilted pants as a set for $1250 !

I think, we can help! What do You think Tamás?

By the way, do You know anything more about Your ammo pouch on Your mannequin? Is it identified Hungarian?

                        NickG,

Here are some photos of my WWII Hungarian helmet. I is in the original "sand" brown colour used during the war. I'll post some pictures of my uniforms later.

                        Regards,

                        Gordon
