Italian Paratrooper Helmet

Hi Everyone,
I just got in this helmet and can't find out what period this is from.
I know this style was made into the 1960's, so how do you tell on these? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Keith,

the helmet liner is similar to the WW2 paratrooper's helmet M41/42
for sure not the type 1960's.
The frontal decal never seen before.

I always thought the WW2 para helmets had a star shaped foam pad at the bottom .Rob

IMO the leather liner is a post war manifacture...The chinstrap appears to be a bad repro.
From the photo I can see the liner band...it appears to be caki in colour.

I believe a fantasy insigna on the front....I never saw something like this also during post WWII period photos

You are right But frequently was removed by the paratrooper for more comfort

Thanks for the info. The liner band is metal and painted green, a little lighter color than the helmet.
