    Need Assistance from Italian Historians

    Hello,
I am trying to find out any military information of a PIETRO D'ANGELO. I was lucky enough to obtain his military medals. From the looks of the group, he was a high ranking officer serving in WW1 and WWII. I say this because a few of the medals are z917 gold---not issued to the average foot soldier. The medals are on their way to me, so no pictures at this time. A google/yahoo search turned up nothing as their is a famous Italian painter with this name.
Any help would be very much appreciated......
    Best,
    Anthony

New Info: I was just told that he served as Admiral of the Navy, and served in WW1, WWII, and post WWII.
