wondering why some italian helmet liners have metal grommets in the cord holes and some do not, is this a indication of WWII from postwar?

the italian steel helmet M33 (1933) it was the helmet used in the
WW2 and postwar period aprox 80' years used when I have my
military service ... The liner cord holes have normally the metal
grommets in iron or alluminium, many collectors have the idea
of the original WW2 era grommets are in iron, and in alluminium are postwar.
I think at moment don't exist an really info about this question.
is possible to see an photo of your liner?

Hallo!
My idea is it this: alluminiun rings are pre war mades in fact some liners with alluminium rings are marked with the producer and year. this untill the 1938-39.
During the war the alluminiun rings was replaced with leather disks glued in the rear for the war economy of the metal, after the war was introduced the steel nickel plated rings.
Of couse lot of pre war liners was used during the WW2 and After the war but for my exsperience i never see a real m.33 of WW2 era vith steel metal nickel plated rings on.
During the war the quality of the leather not was very hight, the leather after 60 years looks drie and fragile, pre war leather are in quite good conditions, post war leathers are in different tans and colors.
