    San Marco Italian Marine

Here's the result, just wish I had a real mannequin...
San Marco Italian Marine (correction: fought in TOBRUK, not El Alamein) in tropical gear, note Italian version of British P08 web gear, unique to Italian Marines and rare large capacity tropical canteen + gas mask! Nick

San Marco Italian Marine. Helmet is most likely a post war rework M33, as it has a web chin strap, but still looks cool! A period helmet with Anchor stencil would look even better! Still looking! Nick

              Hello Nick,

are youn sure, that the African part of this unit fought in El Alamein?
I know only Tobruk and Tunisia.

              Greetings

Hope no one minds me using this thread to ask a question.

I've been collevting some RM and San Marco kit and now have a set of the tan uniform, as per this thread. I was wondering what type of boot would they have worn at Tobruk? Would it have been the M1912/32 Army style boot in browm. Or would it have been black?

                  Thanks.

                  Mike.

In my own collection I've a pair of M12/32 ankle boots in natural colour
for the summer gear of the San Marco NLF, but I'm sure also those
in black colour have been issued to San Marco.
Give a glance here for the equipment:http://70.87.163.50/forums/showthread.php?t=288476
