Do you think they got the dies from the Germans and adapted them or created their own?

            Ben,

I guess they were only manufactured in Milano by an Italian die, but I'm looking for confirmation......

                Ric -

A very nice and elaborate Italian buckle - still keeping a keen out for you on these buckles.

Ben/Ric - we often discuss "influences" and your comments are very timely as I was sitting down with a colleague of mine looking over various assortments of militaria and came across these US WWI campaign medals. Look closely at these two medals and you can easily see "SA" commonalities with the eagle and roundle effect.

Hi Dan, yes you can, I have had many discussions when I was in the military with my colleges, it is amazing how the Wehrmacht influenced our Army in lots of ways. Alot of our equipment even to this day in German design. We adapted German tactics up until the late eighties

                    Military training

When I made my military training period (that was mandatory in France for all men and was lasting 10 months when I did it), everything that I learned about, I was very surprised to find later it was lying in the "Reibert" manual for Infantry !!

                    More than coincidence indeed.

Many of them were brought back by British and US vet........

.....so I hope someone will be able to satisfy my request.

Here's is a recently find from a 34th Vet estate : the buckle was probably made by the same maker of Para's.

Btw, I repeat my pics request of other examples
