    Bulgarian "Sport" Pilot Wing

From my searchs here and at other web sites, I have a good 'gut' feeling about these wings; but my gut has been wrong before, so other opinions are welcome .

    Thanks.

    Reverse...they're un-marked and slightly vaulted.

      Scott,

Here's mine for comparison. My pics do not do the wing justice, as it looks better in hand than in pics.

Hi, I can not say if it is original or not, just wanted to comment the title. It is a common mistake to refer to these as "sports or "secret aviation" badges.

Indeed after the WW1, Bulgaria lost the right to have any kind of military aviation. But of course, secretly was formed a small, hidden Air Force. The uniforms of the pilots were almost like civil suits, on them they wore WW1 type Pilot bage and a small, simple "flying eagle" badge to show Pilot Exam passed.

And this eagle wing, with the royal B letter in it, only came when the AF was no longer secret. It is an official military qualification badge, given to the new pilots. Not sports and not secret. Unfortunately too many copies/fakes, so from these photos can not say anything.
