A friend asked me if I had an extra shirt. I usually pick up a shirt when I can and realized I had a few different models. I don't collect tropical anymore so can't show any of those models. But here are the combat shirts I have and believe to be period productions.

Hello Jeff,
All are good, period made! What is more you got ALL continental patterns:- from Italian made/fabric, aertex and regular M42 cut Splendid selection!
I do love shirts, IMO book or article rgarding them would be great as the topic is very hard and lots of information regarding them is still mystery for even experienced collectors.
Some pictures of one and only I own:

Rob, wonderful shirt! And presentation is impeccable as always!
The shirt models are tough to date, some have RB Numbers, and one has a date (43). I presume. Often if worn the neck markings are long gone. Some are also marked inside flap of front buttons.
I do not know if there is a correlation to collar size and pointiness to the date of manufacturing. Not sure if it a fashion trend or manufacturer variation. I don't have enough data and can not date most of my shirts.
If someone would like to do an article in shirts let me know. I agree it is a lesser known topic.
I pulled some shirts out (6) and outlined them. There is definitely a subtle curve and pointiness to some of them. More exaggerated than others.

Thank you Jeff
I would be very carefull with markings. Most shirts I've seen were not marked, its very easy to mistmach the collar size in cm ("43" or "44") with date.
My is pristine mint and there is no shades of any ink stamps, even simple "1" or "3".
Extremely great idea with collar drawings

If the date is located in chest button are than is more probable that it realy date than in neck.
About date of the ( diffrent shades ) feldgrau shirts ; early - those without chest pockets and reinforcments in neck/back area, than without pockets with neck/back area, than those with chest pockets and than those with simplified collar, and those with rectangular pockets ( suppose SS type of shirts ). Offcource shirt with and without pockets were later made simultaneously.
