    Generals tunic attribution help

A fellow collector here in Norway has acquired this generals tunic and is trying to attribute it.

It has gone through the hand of military antiques of Stockholm and from the tailor's label was attributed to Linz in Austria, however to me it says Josef Spörri of Sins in Switzerland. And sure enough, Spörri is a surname connected to Sins, Switzerland.

So, what do you guys think?

Spörri is a swiss Name. I don`t read "Linz" either...

Copying this thread here to get more looks.

I'm not a uniform collector so have no opinion on the construction of the tunic but as mentioned above the attribution to a tailor in Linz looks to be wrong and the label is to a Swiss tailor in Sins.

So, what do you uniform guys think?

Your reading of the name and town is correct.

Spörri Josef, Sins is correct. The Tailor did exist, i had many Years ago a Tunic from him. That one was a Diplomat Frack.

That's interesting, so Swiss tailors were doing business in Germany?

He could have been traveling there, maybe had some Friends, who knows what. But i have had several Tunics made in Swiss, not often seen but nothing impossible. But i see some other Issues with that Thing. Could you get some Pictures in Daylight from the Effects and also Collar and inside?

See who the military attache to Switzerland was overtime. That may provide a clue. I think they had a fairly large military component there with the embassy both before and during the war. One of the most interesting WH tunics I have seen was a Luftwaffe officers tunic tailored in Ireland with a label.

That was my thought - maybe a long shot, but worth a look.

There where only two german military attachées in Switzerland during the war:
                    01.10.1937 - 30.06.1944 Generalmajor Iwan von Ilsemann
01.07.1944 - 08.05.1945 Generalleutnant Hans Joachim von Horn

Horn is a possibility. Was awarded the german cross in gold, and rank matches him:

Actually the tunic is set up for a full General which is one grade higher than Horns last rank of Gen Lt. Could be his but if so someone added a pip to each board or more likely replaced all for a matching set.
