    Gebirgsjäger uniform Rgt. 139

    Hi All,

What do you think about this tunic assigned to the famous 139th Gebirgsjäger Regiment (it is only about the tunic)?
Is it original and are all insignia applied in the right way?
The tunic comes without any particular stamping on the inside.
Also the medals are not included.
Let me know your opinions as this is not my particular area of expertise.

    Kind regards,

    AW

    Some more pics

Also, the tunic is missing the Narvik Shield, indicating the soldier most probably did not participate in the Narvik campaign.

Is it fully piped or just down the front? Looks like an interesting combination of old-style and new tunic features.

And why does it not make you jump out of your seat?
What are your thoughts on the tunic?
            Let me know.

            Kind regards,

              You are correct Ralph!
It is pipped from the front to the collar.

Looks like the ornamented field blouse introduced on July 12th, 1937 (althou I can’t see whether the upper edge of che open cuffs is piped in green or not). Later that year Senior OfficerCandidates (who held the Oberfelwebel rank) were authorized to wear this garment, but the collar insignia on this specimen conflict .

                  Thanks for your reply!
The open edges of the cuffs are also piped in green yes.
Why do the collar insignia conflict if I might ask?
                  Let me know.

Okay that is good to know, but based on what you draw this conclusion? A little more context would be nice.

                      Kind regards,

Based on what i see...Boards, Edelweiss, Eagle ect. Untouched look different. The Effects are not looking like they are there for 80 Years, if i have to guess...i would say maybe a few Years Months.....i own several 139er Tunics, one of my Family was a 139er. You not want that Thing in your Collection thats all i can say.

                            any named label?

I would like to have an on hand inspection before throw it into the garbage.

                            just my opinion

                            Juan
