    Postwar used wind jacket

    Hello,
Just wanted to post a few shots of what I believe was a WW2 wind jacket that someone turned into a heavier winter coat. I assume this was done postwar. I just wanted to show it as an example of how people continued to use military items during the postwar shortages.
    Thank you,
    Dale

IMO a civilian winter jacket ...

I'm not versed enough in wind jackets to argue it one way or the other. I'm simply basing it on what a German dealer I showed it to a long time ago told me - that it was a WW2 wind jacket that had been heavily modified to a civilian winter jacket.

Here is a WWII Gebirgsjäger wind jacket that I have. Yours looks to be civilian not GBJ issue IMHO.

Yep, no argument from me. His view was that it had been shortened, taken in to make it smaller, the pocket flaps removed, and a heavy liner added to it. But I agree, it doesn't look like an original wind jacket to me.
              Thank you,
