Tom, The paddle does not have paper insignia; it's some how painted on, it's impressive in real time. As previously stated I purchased it well over 25 years ago,for what I paid for my item: It would not make sense to fake it.

For what it's worth, things were being faked and reproduced shortly after the war was over. I have purchased things 30-40 years ago and they turned out to be fake. I stated what appeared to me by the photo you furnished. I'm not going to say your paddle is a fake but what I will say is, that you buying it 25 years ago does not make it original.

I believe it was USM that reproduced those paddles 20 years ago or so. And of course they were copied years before that also.
- don't know exactly what you got there but yes, saying you bought it 25 yrs ago is no provenance and totally meaningless.......
