    Panzer slip-on straps

    Hello gentlemen!
    I need your opinions about these shoulder straps.
    In my opinion these straps are fakes.
    I don't like:
    - piping on this type of straps;
    - the form of button holes;
    - the tongue that is unified with the strap

    The rank pips and the tresse are original in my opinion.

    Anyone can say that these are taylor made but....

        Is there a brown cardboard-like stiffener in the straps that I see at the bottom of the button hole on the right strap? They look like they are probably original private made straps but are made of a rather poor quality-perhaps late war?-felt that is not attractive IMO.

          look original to me. Some collectors would call these straps "private purchased" with basked wave piping.

            My doubts:
            At least these boards are not factory made. Also it's rather strange to see m38 and m40 straps made from one piece of material.
            The tongue on these types of straps - always separate detail.
            Corded piping often can be seen on taylor made waffenrocks, but here we can see field type of straps. Also such type of piping was used at SA, NSKK and etc... shoulder boards, but not at heer.
            Overwhelming majority of m38 straps have wool piping and m40 straps have piping from artificial silk.
            Also, these discussed straps doesn't have tongue lining.

            Any fake thats made from right materials could be considered as "taylor made" or "late war" but who can determine when it was made - before 45 or after?

              Original "private made" straps , no problem .

                Original tailor made straps. I have acquired similar straps in untouched veteran groups.

                  These straps are horrible quality, and ugly, but original.
                  Not many collectors would want them, but "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
                  and they are original.

                    I agree. Original but not pretty.
