    FRANCE Bevo Shield

Did anyone notice anything off on the bevo France shield that just sold on emedals? On the reverse below FRANCE there is red & white but no blue which has been on the very few authentic examples I have seen.

Tony maybe it was just the way the picture was taken. I see what you mean though.
Where you have the vertical lines on the reverse you would expect to see the edges of blue and white threads next to each other looks more like grey and white when I zoom in using my phone.
It was the price that caught most of my attention.
    Cheers

In spite of not showing the blue on the reverse the shield imo is original. The price on the other hand also caught my attention.

I do nottice some small variations with volunteer Bevo shields, but I woudn't worry about that - that was a very nice and attractive France shield. Someone must have wanted that shield very badly, as the price went through the roof.

I used to think that the French destroyed any stock they found after the war because BeVo examples are remarkably rare.

Interesting, looking at the bid history it looks like the guy was bidding against himself to drive the price up as high as it went. Unless Emedals does not show the incremental bids that caused the winners bid to increase as does e-bay and other auction sites. In any event, I am willing to sell my France shield to the second highest bidder at their max bid. And not even charge them the 20% premium....with free shipping too!

What is a current market value for a France BeVo shield?

Just curiosity, Spanish ones goes between 500 to 600 Euros.

Also I will love to see any example of this rare shield.

              Thanks

I think a correct value would be in the 2k -2.5k range.

A couple from the Spanish Blue Division from my collection.

Only lack a couple of Wallonie ones to complete the three western units which served in the Heer.
