Help with translation in helmet please

Hi all. I have owned a favourite helmet of mine for 10 years now a M35 full 1943 reissue. It is named to the liner but also in the other side what seems to be a regiment or similar. No one on the helmet forum has been able to shed any light on it. Anyone here that can translate or make sense of it I’m very gratefull indeed. Regards and thanks in advance. Johnno.

Ruef and then maybe H for Hans or Hermann/ W for Wehrmacht or Wache?

I don't think it is for "Wehrmacht" or "Wache".

In my opinion it is short for a doublename, like Hans-Werner or Heinrich-Wilhelm. Looks like booth letters are a little entwined/linked, so they will depend directly, I think, and that shows an personal interest.

      Best regards

        Perhaps Hfw for Hauptfeldwebel?

I would go with Ruef H/W. Is there something else written in the helmet or is the "H/W" what some thought might be a unit designation? Heinrich/Wilhelm sounds good.

Gentlemen thank you for the interest and help. Here is the other inscription in the liner. I should have posted it with this one first up. It is his name, that’s why I thought the other one may have been a regiment or similar. Thanks guys. Johnno.

For clarity could you please re-shoot the name closer up?

Can’t till tonight but it’s easy if you expand it. It is SDF Josef Montmyer. Cheers Johnno.
