    Landwehr 355 strap

Just the way I got them, appear to have had a long marriage. Question is, is this a legit combo?

Are you sure it is Landwehr and not Lehr unit ?

There was a Landwehr 355 from District IV

        Unlikely pairing in my view.

May 1944 order issued once existing colored thread was used up, embroidery was to be done in light grey. This then would be a legit combo?

Over the years, I have had several "mismatched" straps/slip tab combinations.
I have been told that "we wore what we could get" especially late in the war.
A reasonable explanation would be that the slip tab was added to the strap (piped in weisengrun) upon the soldier's transfer to that Landeschutzen unit.

The embroidery on the slip tab appears to be white (albeit soiled & worn)
as most of the specimens found today.
The "gray thread embroidery" mentioned in Angolia's book is without any known
example (although the Suter book shows a strap with a Gray (?) Latin "T"

            I personally like this strap!
