              U-boat related KM items

Why are U-boat & KM items under the Heer uniforms forum?
Either way here is some of collection

Last item is a 1940 British battledress modified with Wehrmacht buttons which were then painted gold.
They would definitely look better on maniquins but these are now for sale.

                U-boat Cap Badges

The following is my collection of U-boat cap badges

Enamelled U-boat cap badges are not very common.
These here are the 1. U-Flotilla and the 9. U-Flotilla
                They were both French made.
U-boat cap badges represented either/or the U-Flotilla or the individual U-Boat

                I. and 9. U-Fl cap badges - reverse side

The bulk of U-boat cap badges are made metal, some were machine made but most were made on board by hand. From the left going clockwise we have U-118, U-450/37b crew, 9. u-Fl., 11. U-Fl., U-201, U-255, U-565 (veteran badge), U-850, Torpedo mixer day badge, U-300, U-333, U-293, U-558, 9. U-Fl

                Reverse of prevous grouping

How to spot a fake. The first 2 badges here are of 9. U-Fl and U-300. These present the typical size range and detail type of metal U-boat cap badges. I would suspect the remain 3 to be repros due to large size and lack of surface detail.

                Reverse of previous grouping.
The bottom 2 are the 1936 Olympiade badge typically used by commanders who graduated in 1936. The Waffen-SS Totenkopf was used by U-25,40,46,189,244,289,381 and others

                      Kriegsmarine

                      This is a great thread!
We should have it moved to the Kriegsmarine section (which did not exist when the thread got started!)
That way it won't get lost! Moderators?
