    Gebirgsjaeger Edelweiss Arm Badge

Showing here what my research indicates as being a genuine, period, standard BeVo-quality arm badge as worn by qualified members of mountain troop units of all ranks. This example has been tunic removed and some of the threads remain. The device which is part of the badge at the top is done in a silver-type of thread.

I would appreciate comments as to whether this is, or is not, a wartime period piece.

Thanks, in advance, for looking and for any feedback.

Thanks Marcel and Nick. I do like the ones that show some character and indicate that they have "been there".

Original edelweiss, but at least some of the age / discoloration looks to have been post war. If all wartime, the reverse side would have been protected and show less age. At least that is what usually happened.
