Black cap - red piping

Hi Everyone,

I know this isn't Wehrmacht, but since it's headgear, maybe someone can help.
The cap is black, red piping, with the headband black as well (velvet). It has Postal insignia (the wreath and cockade seem to be original to the hat but the eagle is probably a replacement). The chinstrap buttons are black Navy buttons (!!). Does anyone know what this might be (or once was)? It's definitely a genuine Pekuro, but it might have been messed with.

Seems to be a Reichpostschafner visor (with orange piping)

My colleague in France is absolutely correct. It is a post cap, i.e. for the delivery of mail. I have seen these sold at astonishing prices, and this has a nice Peter Kupper interior.
