Need help identifying this shoulder board

Not sure on this one. Heer, and if so, what branch? Didn't see it on a number of sites. Might be post war?

Are you referring to the Reich Forestschutz? I thought so too, but they used acorns for rank pips, not the stars. Also the inner cord color on the Forestschutz boards was a deeper green, although this could have faded over time.

Understood and agreed, but I wonder why this board has pips when all the other forestry boards I've seen have acorns instead.

Pips where used before the forestry dress regulation changed them in 1938.
From 1934 untill 1938 = pips
From 1938 = achorns

(note: this is according to dress regulation, i have seen otherwise. Dress regulation wasn't always followed )

I was just informed by someone local that the original board I posted is for a Luftwaffe Forester member (signified by the lighter green inner cords).

No, that information is not correct. Forestery luftwaffe and heer ALWAYS has a black backing.

They are both from the Staatforstdienst (state forestry). But both from a different period of dress regulation
Staatsforstdienst = Green backing
Privat forestery = Brown backing
Communal forestry = Light grey backing
Heer/luftwaffe forestry = Back backing
