Heer Panzer Eagle?

I have had this small grouping for some time now and just wanted to confirm that the eagle is a German Heer Panzer Eagle?

Agreed I don't think I ever seen one with a cloth backing ,would this be a cut off ?

Either have I,perhaps a later war cut off being that it is machine sewn.

Hi all,

Thank you for taking the time to help! I was told it was a cut off eagle and actually spoke to the Veteran who "liberated" these. Shame to hear about the controversy, but it happens.

It is a very nice original first pattern enlisted panzer breast eagle. The neck threw me on this one.


The backing on a panzer eagle is different to me. Usually it is a tailor product to make the eagle stand out more.

Here are 2 Panzer breast eagles.
One is like the eagle in this thread with a similar backing.
The second is a later eagle but also on a similar backing.
