NOT a real white wrapper with specific cut - Which i posted below.

If SS had own waiter's or mess jackets so why not Heer with their own type. For me simple.
      Agree

As for the shoulderstraps, the SS guys are wearing them, too.

Very interesting photo. Could be servers at some panzer HQ/school/academy?

My guess would be some sort of prewar function where EM's were serving as wait staff. Great pic, no matter what.

Have you more informations about the panzer protection suit you refer to, or better, any pics of this suit ?
            Thanks by advance

Well, not very practical in a panzer, not even in summer time! My guess would be waiters suit as well.

Not in a position to pull the book off the shelf right now for any specifics, but Pruett and Edwards documented an instance when a Panzer unit was in a rest area well behind the lines and some of the members made up "wraps" out of white linen bedsheets from a hotel and formed a choral group to sing at dinners etc. as a morale booster during the unit's rest and refitting period.

I recall reading an article somewhere, about white wraps. For sure not in combat situation. That must have been about 10 or 15 years ago. No idea where I found it, but there were several photos. These in the first pic might have been used as waiters in a panzer unit, but the two portraits of that other panzerman doesn't seem to be the same kind.

Here is a photo of another white wrap I had in my files. If I found any more, I'd post it.

While the ones with the double rows of bright metal buttons were likely made for waiters, the others shown that seem modeled on Panzer wrappers, while not issue items, may have been tailor made for service wear.

                            Interesting thread,

I picked up a strange Panzer cut-off that I have never been able to explain

Cut off a white Panzer wrap ???

                            One can but speculate,

In the book. " Hitlers Berghof " by Arndt there is a color foto of four SS waiters wearing white wraps , two with cufftitles setting a table .
